I don’t know why it surprised me, but Portrush is incredibly far away from Dublin. So far, that when I tried to use a certain well-known taxi app to hail a lift to Me & Mrs Jones in nearby Portstewart, the screen told me it wasn’t available in the area.

“You’re really in the country now girl, this isn’t Belfast,” our server told me while laughing once we arrived at the restaurant 20 minutes late ...
