The first Sunday of the month is almost here, which means it’s time for a new issue of Food&Wine Magazine. We’ve been working hard on our autumnal new issue and have a jam-packed magazine for you to enjoy this week.

On the cover this month are Elyse Clarke and Kate O’Sullivan, the duo behind Fable Bakery. After leaving behind jobs in the corporate world, Clarke and O’Sullivan started up their bakery in July 2022, trading at farmer’s markets, before expanding into a space at Sprout & Co on Dawson Street. In this weekend’s issue, the pair share their journey so far with Jordan Mooney alongside three delicious recipes that we know you’ll love.

Also in recipes this month, our head chef Domini Kemp has created four dishes that are perfect for September, including a vegan kale Caesar salad and a stone fruit and coconut crumble with custard. Elsewhere, Dunnes Stores Simply Better ambassador Neven Maguire shares his top back to school recipes for you to try - think chicken parmigiana, bangers and mash, rice pudding with strawberry compote, and more.

In drinks this month, our spirits expert Oisin Davis chats with Zoran Peric of Suntory whisky about the Japanese approach, while Dean Carroll selects seasonal beers for you to enjoy this month. In wine, Mick O’Connell explains how, contrary to popular belief, you can get a fine quality wine from machine harvested grapes, depending on the variety and particular situation.

We also have lots of travel reports in this month’s issue, so if you’re looking to book a trip this autumn, get inspired with Jordan Mooney’s trips to Killashee Hotel in Kildare and the Grand Central in Belfast, and Gillian Nelis’ Basque odyssey.

In interviews this month, we hear from Siobhán Lawless of The Foods of Athenry, Chris Fullam from The Sea Rooms at Kelly’s Resort, Adam Nevin of Carton House, Daniel Willmont of Kilronan Castle, and Ann Rudden from Áine’s Handmade Chocolate, who has created a wonderful single origin chocolate range for Dunnes Stores Simply Better. Rounding out this month’s issue, our secret restaurateur explains what The Bear can teach us about running a small business.
