Restaurant review: Classic dishes and great service keep The Old Spot humming

The Dublin 4 gastro-pub offers comfort food that’s full of flavour

There are not, it has to be said, many gastro-pubs that will sell you a bottle of 1981 Château Mouton Rothschild for €1,500, or a 1988 Château Lynch Bages Grand Cru Classé for €950.

Then again, I suspect there aren’t that many gastro-pubs that are as well located when it comes to having easy access to the affluent punters who might stretch to those prices as The Old Spot.
