Specially Selected Salmon Sensation 200g, €2.99
A creamy, luxurious salmon spread, this salmon sensation is made with mayonnaise, cucumber and dill for a fresh, yet luscious bite. Made right here in Ireland, the Specially Selected Salmon Sensation won a coveted Silver Award at this year’s Blas na hÉireann Awards. Try it with the award-winning Specially Selected Atlantic Wheaten brown bread (€1.59) for the perfect festive snack.
Specially Selected Irish Outdoor Reared Slow Grown Bronze Whole Turkey (4-4.99kg)
The centrepiece of any Christmas dinner, the turkey needs to be full of flavour. Of course, with ALDI’s 100 per cent Irish and Bord Bia Quality Assured Hockebhull Hollyberry turkeys, you have nothing to worry about. Free to roam the fields in Co Monaghan, these birds will arrive in stores on December 20 and will serve six to eight guests.
Specially Selected Irish Farm to Fork Boned & Rolled Ham 2.3kg, €16.99
It’s rare to find a Christmas table without ham, so seek out a showstopper this year with the Specially Selected Irish Farm to Fork Boned & Rolled Ham. An exclusive farm to fork boneless ham, this ham will serve eight to ten people with both unsmoked and smoked with seasonal spruce woodchips available in stores now. Developed exclusively for ALDI by the Brett family, who operate the successful Oakpark brand, their pigs are reared on the family farm in Kilkenny before being expertly cured in Tipperary. Specially Selected Showstopper Ganache 400g/410g €8.99
Take your dessert in a different direction this season with the exceptionally cute Belgian White Chocolate Cottages or Belgian Milk Chocolate Bars from ALDI. Both are filled with dark chocolate mousse, while the latter also contains milk chocolate and hazelnut ganache, and the former is packed with blonde chocolate ganache and biscuit pieces. Ready to eat as they are, eachshowstopper will serve five.
Specially Selected Laura’s Vintage Christmas Pudding 907g €9.99
It wouldn’t be Christmas without pudding and this is a very tasty option. Awarded bronze in the Irish Quality Food and Drink Awards in 2022 and one star at the Great Taste Awards in 2021, the recipe for this nine-month matured pudding has been handed down through generations of Stafford bakers, the experts behind this dessert. Made with ALDI’s own Salvado Rum, this Specially Selected Christmas pudding has gorgeous flavours of fruit, cider, cognac, brandy and Irish stout. Try it warm with a dollop of sweet cream for the perfect festive dessert.
Specially Selected 5 Year Cheddar Bake 300g €6.99
If a savoury final course is more you, then this large sharing cheese bake made with five year old vintage cheddar is the perfect option. With a rich and powerful flavour, this cheese bake only needs to be popped into the oven until warm and gooey before you and your guests can dig in. Specially Selected French Marsanne 75cl, €8.99
Marsanne makes amazing white wines in the Northern Rhône and it makes a refreshing change from the usual suspects. This version is from a bit further South, in the Languedoc and it’s all about juicy white peach, melon, with a touch of orange zest. Quite rich but with perfectly balanced acidity, it’s great with seafood or butter-basted chicken.
Veuve Monsigny Champagne 75cl €21.99
This wine won gold at the Irish Quality Food and Drink Awards this year and won bronze at the Drinks Business Champagne Masters 2023. It’s a lovely, broad, full, biscuity Champagne that punches miles above its price.
Chateau Billeron Bouquey St Émillion Grand Cru 75cl, €14.99
A gold winner at the Irish Quality Food and Drink Awards 2023, this wine is great with roast meats, even duck and goose. An extraordinary price for a very fine and classic Bordeaux from the Right Bank where Merlot is king. Merlot delivers a soft character while a little Cabernet adds tannin for classic Bordeaux structure. So much so that while it’s lovely to drink now, it will get even better over the next 3 to 5 years. Sunday roast partner par excellence.
