Retained firefighters accept new pay deal to resolve industrial action

Deal will see minimum earnings of retained firefighters jump from €10,500 to up to €21,000 per year

Retained firefighters have voted to accept a deal to end a three-month dispute that had led to industrial action at fire stations nationwide.

Their industrial action had involved reducing crew cover for emergencies and mounting pickets outside fire stations.
