‘Customers need to know we aren’t going to disappear overnight’

Spectrum.Life which offers evidence-based health and wellness services, is led by Stephen Costello who discusses the company’s formation as a spin-out from Spectrum Health, and the tech it uses

Stephen Costello, chief executive of Spectrum.Life: ‘Sometimes you have to just step back and trust the team to deliver’

In Spectrum Health I was commercial director, very much leading on all the technology products for Spectrum Health in terms of their creation. Spectrum.Life is clinical but it’s also technology focused and has scale internationally. Over 50 per cent of our business is in the UK, which would never be the case in Spectrum Health, which is very much a bricks-and-mortar business.

What Spectrum.Life does for all of our different customers is give them access to wellbeing-related content. This is content that is going to help a person understand their health and help them on their self-care journey. This could be through engaging with our digital gym classes, or our mindfulness content or just learning about very broad health and wellbeing. The next phase of our technology then gives people access to clinicians, so primarily, for us, that’s mental health clinicians.
