RWE wins approval for Fahy Beg windfarm following appeal

Planning permission has been granted for the 38MW onshore Fahy Beg wind farm in Co Clare, following an appeal.

An Bord Pleanála approved plans by RWE Renewables to build an eight-turbine wind farm on 3.28 square kilometres of primarily agricultural and forestry land 6km southwest of Killaloe, which the firm says could power up to 25,000 homes a year.
