Trinity College Dublin is facing the threat of industrial action from thousands of staff over restrictions on promotions, the Business Post can reveal.

Professional workers at the university – meaning non-academic staff – have not been able to obtain regular promotions within their roles since 2016, when Trinity’s board decided to terminate a practice it had previously operated since the 1980s.
