More over-60s releasing equity on their homes homes to help house next generation

Figures from Spry Finance found more people were selling equity in their home to help their children get on the property ladder

The volume of homeowners who released value from their home to help the next generation onto the housing ladder increased by two-fold in 2023, new figures from Spry Finance have shown.

Spry Finance is a a specialist lender that offers an equity release scheme or lifetime loan. This allows people to borrow a lump sum against the value of their property without having to move or sell out.
