Tánaiste defends action against Google

Micheál Martin said the publication of fake ads about political figures like himself has the potential to “disrupt and disfigure” public life in the state.

The Fianna Fáil leader also said his High Court case against Google was aimed at unmasking the identity of those behind ads using his image to deter others who “believe that their anonymity provides them with immunity from legal consequence”.
