Only one in four people in Ireland trust artificial intelligence (AI), according to a new report.

The Ireland edition of Edelman’s Trust Barometer for 2024 indicates that while 65 per cent of respondents trust green energy, just 26 per cent trust AI and only a fifth (20 per cent) trust genetically modified foods.

Despite widespread distrust of AI, 71 per cent of respondents said they trusted scientists to provide truthful information around innovation and technology.
