Irish-based offshore wind consultancy firm eyes expansion, plans to hire 500 engineers

Gavin & Doherty Geosolutions aims to expand base of clients in Europe, the United States and Asia

G&D founder Paul Doherty said he believes the offshore wind sector has been gathering domestic and global momentum, driven by the increasing decarbonisation targets set by governments worldwide.

An Irish-based offshore wind energy consultancy firm has announced plans to hire up to 500 engineers over the next five years to establish an engineering hub to support global projects.

Gavin & Doherty Geosolutions, which is headquartered in Dublin and has offices in Cork and Belfast, said on Wednesday the new roles would focus on engineering analysis, numerical modelling, and offshore design.
