Employers in breach of tipping rules to face fines

Employers found in breach of rules surrounding tipping will be handed on the spot fines under new measures announced on Friday.

Patrons do not provide employees with their terms of employment or provide false information will receive a fine of €1,500 under the new rules, which fall under the Payment of Wages Act 2022.
