Eircom fined €2.5m and ordered to refund 76,000 overcharged customers

Eircom, the telecoms company that now trades as Eir, has been fined nearly €2.5 million by the communications regulator after it was found to have overcharged up to 76,000 customers over a three-year period.

ComReg, which is in charge of overseeing the communications sector, today announced it had fined Eircom €2.45 million and ordered it to refund impacted customers following an investigation that found it had overcharged customers between 2018 and 2020.
