Ireland will need 13 per cent more power to run data centres – Goldman Sachs

Power consumption in Ireland is expected to grow by 13 per cent in the next decade as more data centres enter, analysis from Goldman Sachs shows.

Data centres currently account for just over 1 per cent of Europe’s power demand. However, there is a high concentration in Ireland, where they account for 20 per cent of total power demand in 2022.
