€11.6m UCC programme to use AI in screening for cerebral palsy

Initiative will make Ireland a ‘world-leading hub’ in early brain injury and cerebral palsy screening

A new €11.6 million research programme will utilise artificial intelligence for the detection of cerebral palsy at University College Cork (UCC).

The five-year ELEVATE initiative – jointly-funded with €5 million from the Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) and a donation of over €6 million from the Cerebral Palsy Foundation (CPF) – will be led by the Irish Centre for Maternal and Child Health Research (INFANT) at UCC.
