A total of 31.9 million passengers passed through the terminals of Dublin Airport in 2023, according to new figures from DAA, as Cork Airport enjoyed its busiest year.

A further 1.1 million people connected through Dublin Airport’s terminals one and two, while more than half a million passengers were at the airport but did not exit the plane or were part of search and rescue and air ambulance aircraft.

The data comes after DAA – which operates both Dublin and Cork Airport – recently applied to increase the passenger capacity Dublin Airport from 32 million to 40 million passengers per annum, in a move that has led to numerous clashes between the operator, airlines, government and residents. However it may be 2025 before the cap is lifted.
