David Courell appointed interim head of FAI

He has been COO of the Football Association of Ireland since 2021 and will take charge as it begins ‘structured search’ for successor to Jonathan Hill

David Courell, chief operating officer (COO) of the Football Association of Ireland (FAI), has been appointed as interim chief executive of the association.

Courell was announced today as the temporary replacement for Jonathan Hill, who will depart the organisation at the end of the month.

The Co Mayo executive will take charge as the association begins a “structured search for a full-time successor” to Hill.
