Dairy bosses warn food inflation won’t ease this year

Chief executives of Dairygold and Lakeland Dairies say any drop will take months to work through supply system to affect shelf prices

Food price inflation is set to remain stubbornly high until at least the end of this year, two of the largest manufacturers in the country have warned.

The chief executives of Dairygold and Lakeland Dairies, two of the largest dairy co-ops in Ireland, said they did not expect a fall in prices for the rest of the year.
