ComReg orders Eir not to charge customers for switch-off of copper network from 1.8m premises

ComReg has told Eir not to force its customers to pay any one-off charges as the telco switches out its remaining copper network from 1.8 million premises around Ireland.

The telco has been in the process of rolling out a fibre network as it is capable of managing much greater data speeds.
