The board of the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland has described Catherine Martin’s department as being “deeply disrespectful” during the wind-down of the organisation.

A record of a BAI authority meeting in 2022, obtained by the Business Post, shows members expressed “deep disappointment and frustration” as the media department made no formal contact with the authority as the chairperson’s term was about to expire.

The frustration exhibited by the BAI authority has come as Martin faces criticism from Siún Ní Raghallaigh, the former chair of the RTÉ Board, for “taking a hands-off approach”.
