Chelsea FC’s spending the London club is breaking all sorts of records, but only off the pitch. Since it was bought by US hedge fund Clearlake Capital last year, it has spent a staggering €935 million on players. Last week it broke the British transfer record when it paid €134 million for midfielder Moisés Caicedo. The previous record holder? Chelsea, set just six months previously when it paid €125 million for Enzo Fernández.

Meath Street the storied Liberties street is next in line for a facelift from Dublin City Council, after Francis Street received the same treatment. The plans include outdoor seating, trees and more lighting, along with spaces for market traders.
