HMV record shops make an unexpected return to Ireland – and, as you probably already suspected, Ireland is officially the most expensive country in the EU

The high street British music retailer HMV announced last month that it was opening its first new shop in Ireland in almost a decade, thanks to healthy vinyl sales. The store front on Henry Street in Dublin has now emerged, showing a rebranded name: The HMV Shop. The company says it plans to open three more shops later this year in Liffey Valley, Dundrum Shopping Centre and Crescent Shopping Centre in Limerick.
