A former senior figure in RTÉ has slammed the broadcaster for what he claims is a huge drop in its regional coverage.

Damien Tiernan announced last month that he was leaving RTÉ after two decades to take up a new position at WLR FM. He said he had decided to take redundancy largely due to frustration at not being able to get stories on air.
