The biggest property investment company has called it a day. Do its bosses know something we don’t?
In July 2013, with the country barely recovering from the deepest economic crash since the foundation of the state, Stephen Vernon and Pat Gunne, two of the country’s best-known property figures, met in the trading room of the Irish Stock Exchange to ring the bell to mark the flotation of their new company, Green Reit. Finance minister Michael Noonan, a gaggle of his advisers and other guests were also there for the event.
