The US Federal Reserve governor says prospects of a US-China trade accord informed decision - which beggars belief
Last Wednesday, the US Federal Reserve cut the Federal funds rate by 0.25 per cent, bringing headline US interest rates to 1.75 per cent. This was the third rate cut this year and it was expected by a majority of investors. The statement which accompanied the move indicated that the Fed would now pause its rate-cutting cycle, so that it can assess the impact it has made since the summer and incoming US economic data....
