Goodbody cuts economic growth forecasts due to Brexit uncertainty
The stockbroker said the outlook for the Irish economy was "unusually clouded"
Goodbody Stockbrokers has cuts its
economic growth forecasts for 2016 and 2017 due to fears that Brexit uncertainty will trigger a recession in the UK, hitting Irish exports.
The stockbroker reduced its forecast for core domestic demand growth to 4.2 per cent this year from five per cent and to 3.7 per cent in 2017, from a previous estimate of 4.4 per cent. Core domestic demand measures consumer spending, government spending and investment.
