Irish women entrepreneurs triumph at European innovation awards

Two Irish women entrepreneurs - Ciara Clancy and Niamh Donnelly - have been awarded prestigious European Union-backed innovation prizes.

The two were among six entrepreneurs to win in the EU Prize for Women Innovators awards, for which a record number of applications were submitted this year.

Clancy, founder and chief executive of Beats Medical, was among three entrepreneurs chosen for the main prize, for which all received €100,000.
