Irish far right videos viewed ‘over 13.5 million times’ on YouTube
Oireachtas committee to hear of how social media is used to promote hatred which has led to rise in arson attacks on properties linked to asylum seekers
Videos made by the far right in Ireland have received over 13.5 million views on YouTube, according to an organisation which is urging the government to take more action against platforms that host such content.
Niamh McDonald, director of Hope and Courage Collective, will tell politicians that Meta, YouTube/Google, TikTok and X, have all played a “significant role in the growth of disinformation, hate and violence targeted towards marginalised communities in Ireland”.
