Shatter pushes for four-seat Dublin South constituency review as he eyes comeback

Former Fine Gael minister Alan Shatter is seeking to recreate his old Dublin South constituency as he prepares for a potential political comeback.

He is one of dozens of politicians who have been in touch with the review into the country’s 40 Dáil constituencies.

Shatter told the Constituency Commission that the three-seater Dublin-Rathdown constituency should be expanded to a four-seater by taking in areas such as Rathfarnham, Ballyboden and Knocklyon.
