Just before the Dáil went on its Christmas break, Denis Naughten supplied an official update on the state of the nation’s readiness to deal with climate change.

The transition statement contained a warning that climate change would lead to more intense storms and rainfall events, an increased likelihood of coastal flooding and a rise in sea levels.
