Northern boxers left out

As a fan of boxing, I truly enjoyed the article titled “When David beats Goliath” by David McWilliams (30/8/2015).

McWilliams suggested head coach Billy Walsh’s format for turning Ireland’s amateur boxing squad from losers to winners at Olympic level as something to be used in business.

However, the article did a disservice to the likes of Hugh Russell, Paddy Barnes, Michael Conlon, Wayne McCullough and, indeed, John McNally, who ...
