The government has published a letter from the top civil servant at the Department of Public Expenditure & Reform (DPER) which expressesserious concerns about the cost of the National Broadband Plan.

The letter from Robert Watt to the secretary general of the Department of Communications, Climate Action and Environment Mark Griffin, written on April 16, said the state would be asked to bear an “unprecedented risk” if the project were approved.
