Leo Varadkar has said the Irish government is unlikely to offer condolences to Russia in the event of Vladimir Putin’s death.

The Taoiseach was responding to a question about Ireland’s traditional neutrality and wider foreign policy in the context of its opposition to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

No Irish delegation would be sent at the Russian president’s funeral, Varadkar said.
