Turnover drop doesn’t affect Teeling’s profits

Turnover fell at John Teeling’s Great Northern Distillery in 2018, from €14.3 million to €13.6 million, despite selling more whiskey – €5.2 million compared to €3.6 million.

The company managed to rein in its costs in the same time though – from €9.2 million to just over €8 million – meaning its profit for the financial year rose from €4.1 million to €4.8 million.

That left it with accumulated profits of €8.8 million at the end of 2018, up from €6.8 million the year before.
