Triathlon Ireland warned of ‘adverse’ water conditions prior to Youghal Ironman event

Triathlon Ireland, the national governing body for the sport, told organisers of Cork’s Ironman event on Sunday that it could not sanction the race due to “adverse” water conditions on the day.

In a statement on Tuesday evening, the group said that an investigation is ongoing into the event.
