Ministers launch strategy to look beyond Britain for export growth

The Government has launched a new trade strategy aimed atdealing with the effects of Brexit by diversifying into new markets.

The key target of the plan is to increase indigenous exports by more than 25 per cent to €26 billion by 2020.

Ireland Connected was launched by a number of senior ministers, including Taoiseach Enda Kenny, this morning.

The Taoiseach said that while the Government was determined to maintain the gains made in recent years, Brexit had the potential to “reshape Ireland’s enterprise and export strategy for decades to come”.
