There are just 34 fully qualified computer science teachers in Ireland - report

A new study found that the vast majority of teachers in the subject lack accreditation

Ireland has a severe lack of computer science teachers according to research by University of Galway.

The study found that, as of August of last year, of the 140 computer science teachers in the state, only 34 had accreditation in the subject.

The report, ‘Capacity for, Access to, and Participation in Computer Science Education in Ireland’, was commissioned with support from Google.
