TCD provost warned that university would cut student services without fee hikes

The college’s board was told that inflationary pressures and government underfunding could force Trinity to abandon the ‘fee certainty’ principle for thousands of students

Trinity College Dublin’s provost Linda Doyle warned internally that the college would be forced to start cutting student services unless it hiked fees for international and postgraduate students.

Unpublished minutes seen by the Business Post also show Doyle told Trinity’s board that without an increase in fees for non-EU students, the college would be forced to abandon fee certainty for thousands of students, meaning course fees for international and postgraduate students would be decided on ...
