States criticised over human rights account for half of Irish exports to Arab nations

Sales to countries including Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates rose above €2 billion during 2022

Exports from Ireland to Arab states surpassed €2.2 billion in the first nine months of last year, the largest amount on record.

A new report commissioned by the Irish Arab Chamber of Commerce said Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, two states that have been heavily criticised over their human rights records, accounted for half of all exports.
