Providence Resources faces challenge

An Taisce is seeking a judicial review of licences granted to the exploration company Providence Resources. It has brought an ex parte motion against the state, due in court this week.

The conservation body believes various laws, planning and environmental regulations haven’t been properly followed in relation to licences granted by the government to Providence Resources to drill for oil off the Cork coast.
