Pressure on Catherine Martin to clarify communications with former RTÉ chair Ní Raghallaigh in Dáil
Siún Ní Raghallaigh hit out at Martin over what she described as her ‘hands-off’ approach to the RTÉ crisis
Catherine Martin is under increasing pressure to answer questions in the Dáil following Monday’s statement from Siún Ní Raghallaigh, the former chair of the RTÉ board, which appeared to contradict the media minister’s version of events given in recent weeks.
The apparent contradictory accounts between Ní Raghallaigh and the Green Party minister led a number of TDs on the Public Accounts Committee (Pac) on Tuesday to call for further clarity from the minister.
On Monday, Ní Raghallaigh hit out at Martin over what she described as her “hands-off” approach to the crisis at the national broadcaster, saying the minister’s appearance on Prime Time on RTÉ One was in effect “an enforced dismissal”.
