The office of the Press Ombudsman has apologised after a phishing scam was sent out from an email address used by one of its case workers.

An email was sent out at around 11am purporting to be from Bernie Grogan, who works in the ombudsman’s office, and stating that recipients were invited to collaborate on a document.

Links embedded in the email would then prompt the user to enter their email username and password.
