Michael McGrath rules out lifting pay cap at AIB even as state’s stake falls below 50%

Michael McGrath has ruled out a move to lift the €500,000 pay cap at AIB even though the state’s stake in the bank has now fallen below 50 per cent.

Speaking to the Business Post on Thursday, the Minister for Finance said he was “making it clear” that he did not have any “immediate plans” to ease the rules around remuneration of high-paid bankers at the lender.
