‘Limited’ cost-of-living supports to come in budget, Donohoe says

Spending package to contain fewer inflation-fighting measures, but will include ‘impactful supports benefit those most in need’

Paschal Donohoe, the minister for public expenditure, will tell an Oireachtas committee today that the inflation-tackling measures of Budget 2024 will be smaller and more limited than in the last two budgets.

Donohoe, in a speech he will deliver to the Budget Oversight Committee, will also say that he expects Budget 2024 to be the last in which the government will have to tackle inflationary challenges.
