Kerry island chosen for cutting-edge hydrogen project

The Brussels-based Clean Hydrogen Partnership will fund a new study to explore the role of hydrogen in decarbonising energy on the island

An EU-wide energy agency has picked Ireland’s Valentia Ireland, off the coast of Kerry, for a significant new project to investigate how hydrogen can help the country transition to net-zero emissions.

The Clean Hydrogen Partnership, based in Brussels, will fund a new study to explore the role of hydrogen in decarbonising energy on the island, particularly as it is used in maritime activities and for businesses in the area.
