Jeffrey Donaldson stands down as DUP leader after being charged with ‘historical’ offences

Jeffrey Donaldson has quit as leader of the DUP, after being charged with alleged historical offences.

The DUP confirmed that its leader would leave his role with "immediate effect" and that he had been suspended from the party.
