Irish Water Report: 'Lack of clarity on policy direction has led to distrust'

Commission urges utilty to be nice to customers - and to be open about usage data

The expert commission on water services has told Irish Water to move away from metering of individual properties - despitea divisive and drawn-out battle over installation.

The report - due to be formally published today - notes the fragmented nature of Ireland's public water with 973 supplies, compared to Scotland's 290 for a similar-sized population.
