Irish fuel firm Certa acquires Alternative Energy Ireland in bid to cut carbon emissions

Certa, which is owned by DCC, says the acquisition will help it reduce its emissions net zero by 2050 or sooner

Certa, the oil company owned by DCC, has acquired Alternative Energy Ireland, the renewables business, in a deal that it says will help it reduce its carbon emissions to net zero by 2050 or sooner.

Certa, which is a new brand, operates a network of 39 unmanned “pay@pump” petrol and diesel forecourts around Ireland, which it says is the largest of its kind in Ireland.
