The Irish government may back Poland, France and Italy in their bid to reopen a deal on duty-free food imports from Ukraine.

It is the second time in a week that EU governments have decided to row back on a deal once presumed to be sealed, and comes amid renewed farmers’ protests and the rise of populist parties across the continent.
